Check-In
Checking in at Norwich International Airport is not the tedious affair
you normally associate with checking in at an airport. With 12 fully
manned desks, it is a quick and simple process. Your tickets and passport
will be checked, your large baggage weighed and sent on the plane, and
you will then be issued a boarding card. Keep this handy, as you will
need it to proceed through security, to purchase any duty and tax free
goods and to board your plane.
Parking
Very close to the main terminal building, NCP's car parks have plenty
of spaces to offer passengers both long and short stay parking. For

Car Hire
Avis, Hertz and Europcar car hire agencies all have desks in the main
concourse to offer their services to arriving passengers who are continuing
on with their travel.

Baggage
Following the standard baggage allowances, when travelling through Norwich
International you are allowed two pieces of baggage to check-in and
one piece of hand luggage to carry onto the plane yourself. The hand
luggage must not be bigger than 45cm x 15cm x 35cm nor weigh more than
10 kg.
If you are travelling with unusual items of baggage, such
as skis or large musical instruments, it is recommended that you ask
your airline about their procedures and allow extra time for checking
in.
Information Desk
The Norwich Airport information desk is centrally located in the
main concourse with staff on hand to deal with all your flight enquiries
and general information such as flight arrivals and departures, car
parking and airport facilities.
Travel Agency
Travel Norwich Airport is a travel agency that is located in the airport's
main concourse. Offering booking, flight information and availability
on all flights operating to and from Norwich International, the agency
also offers a full range of package holidays and cruises. Four branches
of Travel Norwich Airport are also located in Norwich City Centre, Great
Yarmouth, Sheringham and Southwold.
Taxis
The Norwich International Taxi Association provides a service to and
from the airport through its fleet of dedicated taxis. The taxi rank

Special Needs
As the terminal is all on one level, Norwich International offers a
welcome relief to those travelling with special needs. With no stairs
or escalators to hinder you, you will find the airport very easy to
navigate. In addition, there is disabled parking situated directly opposite
the airport's front entrance.
Disabled toilet facilities are located in both the main
concourse and the departure lounge. Passengers with special needs can
request to pre-board the aircraft and the ground staff will assist you
at any point during your time at Norwich International.
Smoking Policy
Norwich International operates a strict no smoking policy within
the airport's main concourse. Smoking is permitted in the designated
areas within the departure lounge. There is no smoking allowed on board
most of the flights departing from or arriving at Norwich International.
Shopping
The shop is situated in the main concourse and is available to all passengers
and visitors to the airport. You can pick up your last minute travel
accessories, as well as books, magazines and newspapers to read during
your flight. There is also a selection of local gifts, snacks and drinks
available.
The Duty Free Shop is located in the Departure lounge.
Whilst Duty Free has now been restricted to passengers travelling to
non-EU destinations of Cyprus, Tenerife, Malta, the Channel Islands,
Las Palmas and Dubrovnik, Norwich International still offers tax free
shopping to all its departing passengers. So you can still enjoy reduced
prices on your favourite fragrances, cosmetics and jewellery. You'll
find the tax free range of goods located within the Duty Free Shop
Security
Baggage should not be left unattended in the airport, as it will
be removed for safety and security reasons and could even be destroyed.
If you are carrying packages that belong to someone else, make sure
you check the contents yourself and then inform the handling agent when
checking in that these are not your items of baggage.
For safety reasons you cannot take the following items
onto any plane: ammunition, firearms (including toy guns), knives, acid,
explosives, gas cartridges, paint, lighter fuel or mercury.
Money
A branch of Thomas Cook Bureau de Change is conveniently located within
the main concourse to assist you in all your travel money needs. Thomas
Cook offer a wide range of services including cashing facilities, travellers
cheques and the purchase and sale of foreign currency for both arriving
and departing passengers. There is also an HSBC cash machine compatible
with Link facilities, Visa and Mastercard situated nearby.
Immigration and Customs
Immigration
With one clearly marked entrance, going through immigration at Norwich
International couldn't be easier. Be sure, however, to have your passport
and visa requirements ready if these are necessary to your travel.
Customs
The standard rules apply as to what you are allowed and not allowed
to bring into the country. For instance, you may not bring plants, animals
or certain items of food into the country. For a full list of what is

Food & Drink
With two bars, a restaurant and a cafe within the main concourse
and the departure lounge, you are sure to find something to suit your
appetite during your time in Norwich Airport. Both the restaurant and
the bar in the main concourse offer a wide variety of hot and cold meals
throughout the day, as well as a wide selection of beers, wine and spirits.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the adjacent main lounge
are a real crowd pleaser, however, as they provide a dramatic view of
the planes taking off and landing. In the departure lounge you will
find another bar and a cafe to ensure that you have refreshments to
hand throughout your time at Norwich International.
Pets
Although Customers wishing to travel with pets are advised to contact
the airline they are travelling with, the authorities in the destination
country and their vet since regulations vary from destination to destination,
airline to airline.
Airlines that accept animals will normally only do so
if pre-arranged and passengers should note that additional charges may
be incurred.
