Aberdeen is the largest oil-related centre in Europe and
the airport is the worlds largest commercial heliport, with more than
32,000 rotary wing movements serving around 390,000 passengers each
year. In total, there are over 2.5 million passengers using Aberdeen
Airport.

aviation industry which contributes £10.2 billion to UK gross

and the capacity to meet demands, are essential for cities and regions
to prosper. Through the Heathrow Express and the Airport Express partnership,
BAA is ensuring that London's airports have excellent rail links.
BAA develop, let and manage all the retail facilities
at their airports including shops, catering outlets, foreign currency
exchange, car hire and car parks. They also develop and manage non-retail
airport property. BAA Lynton is the world's leading developer of office,
warehouse and hotel facilities at and around airports.

their airports achieve the highest quality, measured by customer surveys
and recognised by many awards, including Partnership for Productivity,

- Information
The airport information desk is located in the check-in area.
- Left luggage
The left luggage facility is next to the airport information desk.
- Currency exchange
There is a bureaux de change facility in the main concourse, opposite
the information desk.
- Trolleys
Free trolleys are available from designated areas in the terminal
building and car parks.
- Lost property
If you lose anything in the terminal building you should contact
the airport information desk. If you discover you have lost something
after you have left the airport please contact +44 (0)1224 722331.
If you leave something on an aircraft please contact your airline.
- Babycare
Babycare units are located near to the airport information desk,
within the disabled toilet facility in the international departures
lounge and within the ladies toilet facility in the domestic departure
area.
- Hotels
There are two hotels located on-airport:
- Thistle Hotel - 147 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, lounge,
outdoor heated swimming pool, gym, conference facilities for
up to 500 delegates. Airport courtesy bus.
- Speedbird Inn - 100 bedrooms, restaurant, lounge bar,
conference facilities for 20 delegates. 400 metres from terminal
building.

Facilities for the hard of hearing
Induction loops have been installed throughout the terminal building
to assist the hard of hearing.
- Where there are signs showing the sympathetic ear symbol, induction
loops amplify announcements or conversations for passengers wearing
hearing aids. You must switch your hearing aid to "T".
- Payphones and credit card telephones are available in all parts
of the terminal.
Facilities for the blind and partially sighted
Guide and hearing dogs are the only dogs allowed in the teminal buildings.
- Aberdeen airport directional signs are black on yellow to provide
optimum contrast to assist all passengers.
- Assistance can be provided by the airline you are travelling with
on request
Toilets
There are unisex wheelchair accessible toilets both landside and airside.
Parents travelling with children are welcome to use the unisex toilets.
Reserved seating
A reserved seating area is available for special needs passengers. This
seating is clearly signed opposite the entrance to departures. The area
provides the following features:
- induction loop
- arms on both sides of seats
- space for wheelchair users
Security check
Safety and security of passengers is Aberdeen Airport's number one priority.
All passengers must pass through the security check before they enter
the departure lounge.
- Should you have to be searched at the security check this will
be carried out by hand following set procedures.
- You can ask to be searched in a private area away from the main
security search if you prefer.
