Girona-Costa Brava airport has an important position
from a tourist point of view and as regards trade and industry,
as it is located near the Costa Brava, the Pyrenees and the cities
of Girona and Barcelona, 10 and 85 km away.
Due to the "budget" airlines, the Girona-Costa Brava
airport has experienced huge growth in recent years, which has
led to traffic in excess of 3 million passengers in 2005, that
is, a growth of 19.3% compared with 2004. It handled 32,119 flight
operations and 240 tonnes of cargo.
