About Sandefjord Airport
Sandefjord Airport Torp is one of only a few airports
in Norway that is not state-owned by Norwegian Air Traffic and Airport
Management. Sandefjord Lufthavn AS owns and operates Sandefjord Airport
Torp under licence by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication.
In 2001, 786,702 airline passengers passed through Torp,
while the expected figure for the year 2002 is just below 900,000. More
than half of the passengers flying from Torp travel to international
destinations. Following the start-up of Ryanairs route to Glasgow
in April, Sandefjord Airport Torp will be the second largest airport
in Norway in terms of direct international flights.
Services at Sandefjord Airport
Baby changing room
Sandefjord Airport Torp has two baby changing rooms.
A combined baby changing room and handicap toilet is located near the
international arrivals area and the cafeteria, and there is also a baby
changing roomright by the main entrance to the terminal building.
Cash dispensers/ ATMs
Nordea has two cash dispensers (ATMs) available at Sandefjord Airport
Torp.
Infostation
Sandefjord Airport Torp is the first airport in the world to offer an
Infostation providing its guests with news, general information and
free use of the Internet. The Infostation is located in the domestic
departures and arrivals hall. There are also two small stations located
in the international departures hall.
The Infostation is built to resemble a satellite where
screens at two different levels ensure updated information. The screens
at the lower level give passers-by the opportunity to interact with
the station, surf the Internet or send e-mail - all for free. A simple
click will put you in touch with the information you're looking for.
The upper screens display updated news headlines. There is also a free
fax machine at the station.
Lost luggage
Have you lost your luggage or other possessions?
All lost and left luggage found in the terminal building are taken care
of by Widerøe and can be picked up there.
Security
To ensure maximum security, stricy rules have been imposed regarding
what may be carried onboard airplanes. Some items may not be taken on
flights. Below is a list of what may and may not be carried on flights.
Torp police service
Police services are available at Sandefjord Airport Torp. Torp police
are called in to carry out border controls, in addition to issuing emergency
passports and temporary driving licences.
