Angers Airport
About Angers
The département of Maine-et-Loire is best known
for Saumur. Although the area produces twice as much red cabernet franc,
it is best known for its dry chenin blanc. Also produced are a vin mousseux
and a sweet wine.
The ancient capital of Angers, with its impressive 13th
century château, is also home to the Cointreau distillery where
the orange-flavoured liqueur has been produced since 1849. Enjoy a cocktail
in the visitors centre.
