About Groningen - Eelde Airport
Groningen Airport Eelde has grown from a small local airstrip
in to the regional airport for the northern Netherlands. Hundreds of
people leave for their holiday destinations from Eelde every week. And
every day, various companies use the regular service to Rotterdam and
the air taxi companies operating at Eelde Airport who fly to many of
the 1200 destinations around Europe every year. So Eelde Airport is
regarded as "the wings of the region". For many years Eelde
Airport has also been known as the centre of flying instruction in The
Netherlands, thanks to the KLM Flying School.
Parking
Parking facilities at Groningen Eelde Airport are not just for dropping
off or picking up travellers. There are also sufficient parking facilities
available for long-term parking. When driving onto Eelde Airport grounds,
follow the signs situated above and alongside the road in order to reach
the car park entrance.
Luggage trolleys
Luggage trolleys are situated near the passenger terminal and on the
car park for your convenience. Use of the luggage trolleys is free of
charge.
Arrival and departure times
You can check the arrival and departure times of flights to and from
Groningen Eelde Airport daily on the teletext service of Dutch television
channels 1, 2 and 3.
Checking-in
To ensure that your holiday flight departs on time, it is important
that all passengers arrive to check-in at Eelde Airport at least one
and a half hours before departure. It is not possible to check in the
morning if your holiday flight is leaving in the afternoon. In allocating
seats, children will be given a seat at the window, if possible. You
must check in for your scheduled service to Amsterdam at least half
an hour before departure. For the scheduled service to Rotterdam, you
have to check in at least 15 minutes before departure.
Luggage
Passengers travelling to holiday destinations are usually allowed to
check-in a maximum of 20 kg of luggage per person without having to
pay a surcharge. Please check with your travel agent for the maximum
weight allowance that applies to your flight.
Groundservice Groningen Airport (GGA)
Ground service Groningen Airport is responsible for luggage handling
and checking-in at Groningen Airport Eelde. The GGA office in the passenger
terminal will answer any questions you may have, or you can telephone
+31 (0)50-309 34 00.
Taxfree shop
Are you travelling to a destination outside the European Union, such
as Turkey, or to the Canary Island? You will find a comprehensive range
of tax-free liquor, tobacco products and perfumes in the tax-free shop,
at attractive prices. It’s also possible for every passenger –
including those travelling to destinations within the European Union
– to buy perfumes, jewellery, confectionery and reading matter
at very attractive prices. Eelde Airport cordially invite you to come
and have a look in their shop.
Babyroom
Passengers travelling with babies can make use of the baby room in the
passenger terminal.
Hotel-restaurant L'Avion
Adjacent to the passenger terminal is the hotel-restaurant L’Avion.
The restaurant terrace offers an excellent view of aircraft arriving
at and departing from Groningen Eelde Airport. Naturally, you can also
stay the night at the hotel, and the restaurant has conference accommodation
available on request.
Wheelchair access
Both the passenger terminal and the hotel-restaurant are fully accessible
for wheelchair users.
